Taylored Treats

Chocolate & Carob

Moulding from this great chocolate is so easy - just pop a glass bowlful (about 200g) into your microwave oven, set the temp to DEFROST and the time to 2 mins, press start, take out stir around and put back in for a minute at a time until it's melted to a liquid state, a bit like thick cream or purchase Squeeze bottles from us that work almost the same but have a very handy pouring tip so the mess is confined to nothing or a very small area - especially when the kids help out!
(As microwave ovens vary it is up to you to work out exactly how long yours will take.)

Don't have a microwave - never fear - the old double boiler or bowl over a saucepan of water works just as well - just ensure no steam or water gets into the chocolate as this will make it gluggy - chocolate is oil based and we all know that oil and water don't mix.

To add flavour to your chocolate, add 3-5 drops of flavouring oil to the bowlful of molten chocolate, stir and pour into moulds. Less for peppermint than other flavours

Want to add a touch of colour to your finished product - add powdered colour to white chocolate by the pinch.  Be careful when you open the vial that it doesn't go everywhere.  The colour will darken slightly on solidifying.
